Royal City Track and Field Club athletes represented the club well in numbers and performance at the Langley Pacific Open Invitational Meet June 14-15, competing in wet, blustery conditions for most of the weekend.

Medal Count and Top 8 performances:

over 20 medals and more than 50 top 8 performances by Royal City athletes at the meet
- Nathan Larsen won 6th in 300m and 7th in discus for 17 year old boys’
- Courtney Vanee took 4th place in hammer throw
- Lauren Vanee took gold for her javelin throw and 4th for 200m hurdles for 15 year old girls’
- Emily Chilton took 7th in 2000m and 8th in 1200m for 15 year old girls’
- Ian Hunter won bronze in pole vault and 5th in javelin for 14 yr old boys’
- Brianna Bates won silver for her javelin throw, 4th in pole vault and 7th in shot put for 14 yr old girls’
- Grace Fetherstonhaugh won bronze in the 800m for 14 year old girls’
- Devin Strome took bronze in high jump, 5th in shot put and 6th in 80m hurdles
- Jenevieve Patry-Smith won gold in pole vault, a trio of silver medals in discus, shot put and javelin and bronze in hammer throw
- Amanda Scott won bronze in 300m and long jump and 4th in the 2000m! (first time event for her)
- Shea Janke placed 7th in high jump and 8th for 200m and long jump for 13 yr old boys’
- Ryan Jensen won a bronze medal in triple jump and 5th in 80m hurdles
- Max Jones took gold in pole vault, bronze in 80m hurdles and 7th in 200m dash
- Sabine Girt won bronze in the 1200m and 5th in the 800m for 12 year old girls’
- Lauryn Savela took 6th place for her javelin throw for 12 year old girls’
- Milena Kalisch won gold for the 1000m, 5th for 200m and 8th for 60m in 11 year old girls’
- Kate Stewart-Barnett won silver in the 1000m and 4th in high jump for 11 year old girls’
- Riley Storms took 6th place for her javelin throw in 11 year old girls’
- Angus Steele, 9 years old, won gold in 600m, silver in the 100m and bronze in the 60m
JD Standard Recognition:
- Jenevieve Patry-Smith accomplished JD Standard in Javelin for 13 year old girls
- Angus Steele performed to JD Standard as well in the 600m for 9 year old boys
