The Royal City Track and Field Club travelled to Victoria to compete in the 2013 Dogwood Track & Field meet on May 10-11th. This meet is the largest meet of its kind on Vancouver Island and hosted over 500 athletes. The team had tremendous success at this meet winning 21 medals and an additional 26 top 8 finishes. Maxwell Jones lead the teams medal count winning gold in the 100M, 200M, 80M & 200M hurdles. Teammate Ryan Jensen won gold in Long Jump and 800M RW, silver in the 60M hurdles and bronze in the 1200M. Jenevieve Patry-Smith threw her way to the top with pair of gold medals in javelin and shot put, a silver in discus and bronze in the 80M hurdles. Sprinter Emmanuel Dadson won gold in the 100M and a pair of silvers in the 200M and 200M hurdles while sister Michelle Dadson won a pair of silver medals in discus and shot put. Club veteran Kinsey Weir won silver in pole vault and bronze in triple jump while teammate Emily Chilton won a pair of silver medals in the 1200M and 2000M. In addition to medal performances outstanding top 8 performances were achieved by sisters Deirdre and Kathryn Bos and David Patry-Smith.
